RANT OF THE DAY 7/12/00

This is an e-mail I sent to the MBTA on Tuesday, 7/11/00

As the Tall Ships are in town, commuters and tourists have been asked to
take the T. I know they all did because this monthly pass holder could
not (legally) park and ride. All of the Quincy lots were full by 7:45
this morning. I cannot park at my job, and I wanted to get home before
9 o'clock tonight, instead of sitting in Tall Ship traffic.
I parked my car in a CVS lot, knowing it is going to get towed but
having no other option if I want to keep my job. All of the streets
surrounding the T stations are no parking, or limited hour parking. The
T is raising it's fares, and I'm paying at least $2 to park, if I can
actually find a spot. Are more lots going to be created, or will I be
getting towed more frequently? It is cheaper for me to drive to work
(adding to traffic) and pay $20 to park (that money could be going
towards a T pass) and $2 a gallon (instead of $125 to get my car out of
storage).
